In this quick and simple educational video guide I will show you how to update the firmware version of your Samsung SSD, NVMe, M2 also on external portable backup Disk Drive from Samsung on your windows laptop or desktop computer.

If your Samsung disk drive fails to boot or has errors, then it's good to update the firmware so you can recover it but only if it is recognized on the Samsung Magician software.
Firmware updates may be for performance, security or bug fixes so it can work faster and more stable. If you fail to install a security update, you may be vulnerable to a security risk.
Lately, some Samsung SSD's have an issue with the old or original firmware that could mean that the drive is going to fail soon but after the updating the firmware that will be fixed that I found out online.
