You can update your Samsung Galaxy S26 by checking for software updates in Settings, using automatic downloads over Wi-Fi, or updating via a computer with Samsung Smart Switch.

Updating System Software Over the Air
Open Settings on your device and scroll down to Software update

Tap Download and install. Your S26 will check Samsung’s servers for available updates

If an update is found, follow the prompt to download it. For major One UI upgrades, it’s recommended to plug your phone into a charger and ensure a strong Wi-Fi connection, as these files can be large

Once downloaded, tap Install update. The device will restart automatically to complete the installation

Setting Up Automatic Updates
Go to Settings Software update, then tap the three-dot menu in the top right and enable Auto download over Wi-Fi

Your S26 will automatically download updates when connected to Wi-Fi and charging, but you will receive a notification to install them manually. This keeps your system current without needing to remember to check updates.
