Retro gaming is HUGE right now, and many handheld emulators have come on to the scene recently. My friend Chris sent me this Anbernic RG353V so we could play our favorite Pokemon games, and he had the idea of try running ProTool on it. He got it working and sent me a written guide as well as the necessary files, and walked me through setting it up.
I was surprised at how well ProTool runs on this, especially when connected via ENET. Talk about multi-functional! This will be a great conversation piece at the next cars and coffee for sure!
Even if you don’t want to use a bootleg Gameboy, BimmerGeeks ProTool is a powerful app that can do coding, live gauges, data logging, battery registration and much more. Maybe best of all; the Master License is a one-time buy. No ongoing subscription, or additional fees to unlock content.
Full disclosure, I don’t have any working relationship with BimmerGeeks, but they did help me with my 6WB install a few years ago and they were friendly and knowledgable!

* Code at your own risk. While F Chassis coding is generally safe, there is some inherent risk in editing these modules. ProTool has some nice guardrails for beginners.
* Code one thing at a time and create backups as you go along.
* Each BMW model and generation will have different coding possibilities. The better equipped your car is (ex. HUD, Nav), the more coding options will be available to you.
* If you haven’t driven your car in a while, consider connecting to a trickle charger before longer coding sessions.
