To enable navigation voice in a Tesla Model Y, open your touchscreen, access the navigation settings, and adjust the voice guidance and volume options directly.

Step-by-Step Instructions
Open the Navigation App

On your Model Y’s touchscreen, tap the Navigation icon (the map) in the bottom-left or bottom-right corner of the display.

Access Voice Guidance Settings
Tap the three-dot menu or the Settings / Options button within the navigation screen.

Look for “Voice Guidance” or “Navigation Voice” options.
Turn On Navigation Voice

Toggle the Voice Guidance switch to “On”.
You may have options for “Normal”, “Soft”, or “Muted”—choose the preferred volume level.

Check Media and Navigation Volume
On the media control panel, verify the system volume is audible.

You can adjust the voice volume specifically by turning the scroll wheel on the steering wheel while a navigation prompt is speaking; this adjusts the guidance volume without changing music volume.

Test the Navigation Voice
Enter a destination and start navigation to ensure that the voice prompts are audible.

If you don’t hear guidance, check the Sound Settings under Controls → Settings → Sound for Navigation Voice Volume and confirm it’s not muted.
