You can easily turn off the voice assistant (Google Assistant) on your Android phone by disabling it in the settings through the Google app or system settings.
Method 1 — Disable Google Assistant via Google App
Open the Google app on your phone.
Tap your profile picture or initials in the top-right corner.
Go to Settings Google Assistant.
Scroll down and select General.
Toggle Google Assistant to off. This will prevent the assistant from responding to voice commands or opening automatically.
Method 2 — Turn Off “Hey Google” Voice Activation
Open the Google app.
Tap Profile picture Settings Voice Voice Match.
Disable Hey Google detection. This stops your phone from listening for the wake phrase while keeping other Google services functional.
Method 3 — Disable Accessibility Voice Services (if using TalkBack or Voice Access)
Open Settings Accessibility.
Go to Screen readers or similar options.
Turn off TalkBack, Voice Access, or other enabled voice assistant services. This step is important if you use accessibility features that provide spoken feedback.
