Gathers or tucks? Here’s how I turned these simple gathers into delicate tucks.

✂️ Start with a pattern piece that’s meant to be gathered and measure it
✂️ Figure out how much fullness to remove and remove it
✂️ Divide that by the number of tucks you want
✂️ Decide how far apart you want to place the tucks
✂️ Mark them in alternating colors—it’s so much easier to see where each tuck goes
✂️ Stitch them together and press flat
