In this video I show how to turn a high gloss polyurethane neck into a smooth satin finish using a kitchen Scotch-Brite pad. This is a common hack that many guitar techs and players use to remove that sticky feel from gloss necks. I demonstrate the process on my two Fender maple neck guitars using a few simple items:

• Scotch-Brite pad
• Paper towels
• Painter’s tape
• Microfiber cloth
• Guitar polish

This method lightly scuffs the polyurethane finish to create a fast, smooth satin neck feel.
