This video teaches you how to trace both modern and vintage sewing patterns, showing the tools you need to protect your patterns.

PDF patterns and modern commercial patterns are not normally traced, but if you'd like to preserve your patterns, I show you how to do so. Vintage patterns are sewing treasures and I also go in depth about how to properly trace them so you can then store your vintage patterns properly after use.

[CORRECTION] At timestamp 21:30 I stated that your grain line should be directly across the middle of the perforated name on your pattern piece. I neglected to mention that you should first double check your pattern instruction sheet, as sometimes the grainline will be specified there. If no grainline is mentioned, please use the perforated name on the pattern sheet as a last resort.
