At a modest dairy farm in Laguna owned by his father, former Senator Jun Magsaysay, Paco was asked this question: what could you do with fresh milk and excess cream?

At the time, the farm saw a surplus of perfectly good fresh milk and cream just wasting away or being thrown out. Faced with this challenge, Pacos father turned to him and asked him to do something with the milk.

Not knowing at the time that he was on the cusp of what would become one of the most recognized local ice cream brands, he started to turn what would have been spoilt milk into delectable, dairy desserts.

It wasnt, however, an overnight success as Paco had to deal with the problem of any fledgling start-up company: anonymity.

Hear how Paco likens himself to ice-cream--a favorite of many, but something that has to go through so much pressure to reach the level of perfection people now enjoy.

Like ice cream, Pacos journey was filled with challenges, learning curves, and persistence. He worked tirelessly, experimenting with recipes and refining the process, driven by his passion to create something exceptional. Francisco Magsaysay is known for his leadership and success in creating Carmen's Best Ice Cream. In 2018, he received the Agora Award for Outstanding Achievement in Entrepreneurship in the Medium Enterprise category. In 2022, he received the Mansmith Innovation Award for Product Innovation.

He has been recognized as the Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year by the Italian Chamber of Commerce and the Small Business Entrepreneur of the Year by Entrepreneur Of The Year of Ernest Young/SGV. He also oversees Asian Vision, a successful cable TV and broadband company serving Batangas, Quezon, and Zambales provinces.

After earning a marketing degree at the University of St. Thomas, he returned home to take over his father's business. Ramon Magsaysay Jr., was elected as a senator in 1995, continuing his family's media legacy. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
