Jamey discusses how to teach the swift bird-collection, engine-building game, Wingspan Pocket, using these core concepts:

1. Set up the standard game (no goal cards, 4 random cards on food side and 2 on bird side)

2. Hand out reference cards and share goal of scoring the most points after someone plays their 6th bird (points on birds, eggs, and tucked cards)

3. Run through a sample turn of playing a bird (2 for 1 food allowed)

4. Run through a sample turn of gaining cards (emphasize that cards remain as they were gained, refill at end of turn); use the bird you played in the previous turn

5. Run through a sample turn of laying eggs on different cards
