In this video I will give you a breakdown of 5 techniques for going up and down curbs on inline skates / rollerblades that I think are suitable for the beginner skater to learn. Or indeed any level of skater if you have not tried them before.
These are the step up, the hop up, two foot jump up, the roll down and the step down.
These are the techniques I taught myself when I started to skate the city streets. Please note that I am not a skate instructor. These are just my ideas on how to take curbs but I hope they can help you out.
This certainly is not a definitive guide to taking curbs. There are many other ways to do it. I would always encourage people to check out other guides and tutorials, whether that is here on YouTube or with your local skate instructor.
I would always recommend that people wear adequate safety protection when inline skating / rollerblading. This is of course though a personal choice and it is not for me to dictate to people what to do. We all skate at our own risk.
