Studying for cybersecurity might seem intense, and it's hard to work up the motivation when you're busy as is. But what if we told you it wasn't about motivation?
Today, Alex has some tips to share about how to fit study in, even when you have a million things going on. It comes down to building a system that works for you. Some of Alex's recommendations include:
Shift your mindset. Stop comparing yourself to others. It's easy to doomscroll and fixate on the accomplishments people post to social media, but remember, that's a highlight reel that only is showing you the very surface. Instead, keep your mindset more systematic and intentional.
30-minute rule. The trick is to have a project ready to go as to reduce setup time. And every day - or a certain order of days that works best for you (like Tuesdays and Thursdays) - commit 30 minutes to studying. Find a slot and stick to it, like your lunch break.
Study triggers. Also known as "cornerstone habits," this can simply mean having a dedicated place in your home or office to study. Or it could be: Once you put the kids to bed, it's time to study. Whatever you choose as your trigger, the important thing is to ensure it is consistent.
