Video 03: How to Connect to Your Voice Physically
Continuing our series of exercises, we'll be working on getting in touch with your voice PHYSICALLY. As I always say, "To know your voice is to feel your voice."
Now, this may get you wondering, "How does all this help me stop mumbling??" I'm glad you asked!
The exercises we perform together are all in the interest of 1) getting more power behind your voice by using your breath, and 2) allowing your natural resonance and tone to flow freely throughout your vocal chamber.
As we move forward in the series, these exercises will serve as the foundation on which to build a strong, clear speaking voice. This happens by breaking the bad habits of shallow breathing, tightening of the throat, and letting words just fall out of your mouth... bad news!
By practicing sounds, mouth & tongue movements, physical relaxation, and attention to enunciation we are honing the tools of clear speech; allowing our voices to work with us, not against us.
So keep going! Your mumble's in trouble and I can't wait for you to see it in the rear-view mirror!
