I took a WONDERFUL class by Justine Hovey this weekend, called Fearless Cardmaking in Minutes, which fits right in with this video. I happen to be one of her subscribers? patreons? VIPS? (I can't remember what she calls them) and I know the class is now available to me FOR FREE (oh the wonders of VIP status!!) and I really recommend it, whether you're a VIP or not. This class was not about a specific technique, but more about learning to put the fun back into card-making, how to stop OVERTHINKING everything and Just Do It. I love the fact that her brand (available on Craftstash) is called It's Just Paper. How often we forget that.
ANYWAY, this video was actually already in the works. I had sat down and thought, "what am I gonna make?" and realized that my "almost done" box was OVERFLOWING ONTO THE FLOOR. And hence the focus of this video. Sometimes we don't need super special - we need done.
And ya know what? I've discovered that done leads to more done. As in, Done leads to MORE creativity, MORE ideas, MORE things I want to play with in my craft room. I'm suddenly all p-jazzed again about card-making! Suddenly, there's LOTS I want to show you all!! After I finished this video, I finished 8 more cards in the class, 3 more backgrounds, a bunch o leaves, finished off a pot of green paper glaze, made a bunch of flowers and have some paper drying to make butterflies.
