Get to steaming with the Barista Express, found here: breville.com/en-us/product/bes870?sku=BES870XL
Hereās how to manually steam milk:
1. Fill your milk jug to just below the lip using your milk of choice.
2. Purge your steam wand.
3. Position your jug underneath the steam wand of your machine, creating an angle between the jug and your steam wand.
4. Run your steam wand down the jug until it makes contact with the surface of your chosen milk and create a slight tilt with the jug.
5. Turn on your steam wand to begin the Aerating process. How long you aerate will affect how foamy your milk becomes.
6. Create a vortex with your steam wand to begin Texturing your milk. This will create the silky texture that barista made coffees have.
7. After reaching a temperature of 150 degrees, turn off your steam and immediately purge it before creating your signature latte art.
Tip: Different coffees need different aerating approaches. Aerate your milk for 6-8 seconds for a Flat White, 8-10 seconds for a Latte and 10-14 seconds for a Cappuccino.
