ok also, just as i began exporting i glimpsed this beautiful reddit thread by u/TheGreatOnixStatue showcasing how to use Barricade to speedrun your Rig usage tasks! i cannot believe i did not consider this, but i suppose it is only possible now that the barricade rework is a thing reddit.com/r/OutlastTrials/comments/1u7m45d/the_great_onix_statue_loves_how_all_baricade
also, this isn't necessarily task-related, but if you need to play any trial with cold areas (see: Resort) and you struggle to deal with that Freezing mechanic, you can add variators such as Flamethrowers and the Burning Barrels secondary in order to create additional heat sources. DO NOT add Deep Burn unless you can handle the heavily reduced stamina which that variator introduces. More Pitchers also works but um. don't tell bibzuda
