Hello. I'm Dr. Julian Northbrook from doingenglish.com and let's hit it with today's question. It's one which came up on Quora. How can I speak to strangers fluently in English? I'm going to give a pretty blunt, pretty brutally honest answer to this. There were a lot of answers on Quora to this question. And 99% of them totally missed the point. There were answers saying you can't ever get good at doing that because you'll never understand the colloquialisms of English speakers on the street, which is total bullshit. And it's obviously from somebody who has absolutely no idea what they're talking about.
Others have talked about enrolling in a free ESL school and they were all just missing the point, because the answer to this question is simple and you already know what the answer is. If you want to talk to strangers in fluent English, what you've got to do is work on your English so you can speak fluent English, then grow a pair of balls and get out there and talk to strangers on the street. It really is as simple as that, and there is nothing else to say other than work on your English, grow a pair and talk to people.
