Mario 64 has always been one of my favorite games, and this was one of the first exploits that I learned - about 10 years ago. (Wow it's been such a long time now.)
Anyway, if anybody's still playing this game (and I hope they still are 'cause it's amazing) here's how to get to the final bowser battle without the usual prerequisite of 70 stars.
Tested and works on N64 Cartridge and Virtual Console.
