In today's woodworking video i'm going to show you my method for sharpening a brand new chisel and a brand new plane iron. We will start with the chisel by first flattening the back on the coarse diamond plate, 1000, 5000, and 8000 grit ceramic waterstones. Next we hone a 30 degree micro bevel using the 1000 and 8000 grit stones and the chisel is done!

The plane iron is setup by flattening the back using the Charlesworth ruler trick on the 1000 and 8000 grit stones. Next, just like the chisel, we hone a 30 degree micro bevel.
