Made from soft faux suede, the pouch has a smooth, matte finish that gives it a more elevated look than standard cotton. The fabric is stable and doesn’t fray, which makes cutting and sewing simple, even for confident beginners. It holds its shape beautifully without needing heavy interfacing. You could, however, make the pouch from cotton, you would need interfacing or fusible fleece to give the bag shape.
It’s the kind of project that works as a cosmetic bag, pencil case, or small clutch. Quick to sew, practical to use, and ideal if you want something that looks shop bought but carries that satisfying handmade touch. It would be quite simple to add a patch pocket to the inside.

Materials:
Two pieces of 14” x 3.5” upper outer fabric (swirls cotton)
Two pieces 14” x 3.5” fusible craft fleece
Two pieces of 14” x 8” lower outer fabric (faux suede)
Two pieces of 14” x 11” lining fabric
Four pieces of 1.5” x 2.5” upper fabric for the zip tabs
6” x 6” upper fabric for the heart applique
3.5” x 6” upper fabric for the strap (make this longer if you’d like to slip your hand through)
5” Heart template
6” x 6” Bondaweb
