You can easily turn your Samsung Galaxy phone into a mobile hotspot to share your mobile data with other devices by enabling, configuring, and securing the hotspot from the settings or quick panel.
Step 1 — Enable Mobile Hotspot
There are two main ways to turn on your hotspot:
Method 1: From Settings
Open the Settings app on your Samsung phone.
Tap Connections Mobile Hotspot and Tethering.
Toggle Mobile Hotspot to turn it on. A hotspot icon will appear in the status bar, indicating it’s active
Method 2: From Quick Settings Panel
Swipe down from the top of the screen to open Quick Settings.
Look for the Mobile Hotspot icon (Wi-Fi symbol with a dot) and tap it to activate. The hotspot will use previously saved settings
Step 2 — Configure Hotspot Settings
For enhanced security and performance, customize your hotspot:
Go to Settings Connections Mobile Hotspot and Tethering Mobile Hotspot Configure.
Network Name (SSID): Change the default name to identify your hotspot easily.
Password: Set a strong password (10+ characters) to prevent unauthorized access.
Security Type: Choose WPA2 or WPA3 for encrypted connections.
Band: Use 5 GHz for faster speeds (shorter range) or 2.4 GHz for longer range
Maximum Connections: Limit the number of devices (typically 1–10) to control load
Step 3 — Use QR Code for Easy Device Connections
In hotspot configuration, enable QR code sharing.
Other devices can scan the QR code to connect instantly without manually entering credentials
