1) Enable bluetooth and wifi on your phone and open the Amazon Alexa App and login.

3) If you purchased from Amazon and have an Alexa account it should automatically register your information and start connecting to the Alexa app once plugged in. From there your can set up and customize the settings on your echo dot max.
