By default, the AJAX Search widget in JetSearch displays results in a single-column list with a fixed set of fields — post title, thumbnail, and excerpt. This tutorial by Mark (Wicky Design) shows how to replace that default layout with a custom JetEngine Listing Template (loop), allowing you to build a two-column results grid with images, custom metadata, clickable items, and full styling control.
✅ What you'll learn:
• What plugins are required: JetEngine + JetSearch (free Elementor, no Pro needed)
• How to configure the AJAX Search widget settings
• How to create a Listing Template (loop) in JetEngine for the search source
• How to pull in dynamic metadata fields into the listing
• How to make listing items clickable (link to single post)
• How to assign the Listing Template (loop) in the Results Area settings
• How to style the search results area directly in the editor
