If you want to move one of the corners of a shape layer in After Effects you might google “how to select an anchor point” and end up at this tutorial.
First of all, the small squares along the edge of the shape is actually just called “points” and the shape in the middle is called “anchor point”. This can be a bit confusing if you come from Illustrator or Photoshop, especially since those programs are also created by Adobe, but I’m going to show you how to move these points in this tutorial.
First, you go to the timeline window. There you click one of the layers, go to “Contents”, “Rectangle One”, “Rectangle path 1” and then right click on that. Now click “Convert to Bezier Path”.
Now, the name of that row changed from “Rectangle Path 1” to just “Path 1” and if you now select “Path 1” and pay attention to the shape in the composition window, the squares along the edge of the shape are now hollow. This indicates that you can now click and drag any of these points to move them individually.
