Thank you to @T3rr0r626 for some last-minute dubbing for the scene with Husk
I have a very love-hate relationship with Hazbin Hotel and the Hellaverse as a whole to be honest. On one hand, there’s a lot to love! Amazing character designs, intriguing story and really strong character moments… but there’s also a lot to hate. Like the odd pacing, outright confusing storytelling and whatever the hell is going on here. It’s weird because I wish I could just say I hated the show, but with how much time I’ve spent watching and thinking about it, I have to admit that I’m just a fan. An indie cartoon that started off on youtube that has now been picked up and released by one of the biggest companies on the planet is such an awe inspiring story, doubly amazing because of how good [some of this show is-
I had no intentions of making another video related to this series or Helluva this early, mainly because I thought that we weren’t gonna get any Spindleverse content in 2025. And then oops Hazbin Hotel season 2 came out on the 29th of October! I don’t know how I’m surprised considering this was the 6 year anniversary of the show. Even knowing this, I still had no intention of making a Hazbin video mainly because I didn't think I'd be that interested in season 2…. But then I watched it and realised something… I had more to say about this season than the first and all of Helluva.
With the pilot setting up an interesting world and the first season not really following up on that aside from these tiny, tiny glimmers of incredible moments, I was sure that the second season would be more of the same thing. I thought season 2 would introduce way too many characters who would all be fighting for screentime, throw countless concepts at the audience and not flesh them out before hurriedly concluding everything in an unsatisfying way. I thought I’d say this second season “needed more episodes”, or “was lacking focus”, but I was wrong… Kind of-
Season 2 of Hazbin Hotel is simultaneously a major step forward from the previous season and also, somehow one of the most disappointing seasons of television I have ever seen. It tells a legitimately interesting story with characters I care about, but also manages to double down on almost every issue I had with the first season while adding brand new problems I just… need to share wit h the class. I haven’t experienced something this conflicting in a while. That is so interesting to me! So… Here we are!
Also if you’re a fan of this series and you’re here watching this video, I appreciate it. I never wanna rain on people having fun and I hope I’m able to convey myself in a way that makes that very clear. So if you’re still watching this video then… Thank you. Anyway, I’m Ty or Bored Oranges and this is my thoughts on the second season of Hazbin Hotel.
