To rotate the home screen on your Samsung Galaxy S26, simply enable the "Rotate to landscape mode" option in Home screen settings, and ensure Auto rotate is active.
Step 1 — Enable Auto Rotate
Swipe down from the top of the screen to open the Quick Settings panel.
Look for the Auto rotate or Portrait icon. If it is gray or shows a lock, rotation is locked; tap it to activate Auto rotate. The icon will turn blue when enabled
Step 2 — Enable Home Screen Rotation
Even when Auto rotate is on, the home screen may remain locked in portrait mode. To enable its rotation:
Long-press on an empty area of the home screen.
Tap Settings or Home screen settings.
Locate Rotate to landscape mode and toggle it on
Once enabled, your home screen will rotate automatically when you turn your phone sideways.
Step 3 — Troubleshooting Tips
Restart your phone to clear temporary glitches. Press and hold Volume Down + Power for about 10 seconds until the device restarts
Check for sensor issues: Open the Phone app and dial #0# to access the diagnostic menu. Tap Sensor and verify that X, Y, Z accelerometer readings change as you tilt the device
Safe Mode: Boot your phone into Safe Mode to see if a third-party app is blocking rotation. If rotation works in Safe Mode, check recently installed apps that might interfere with screen orientation
Software updates: Make sure your device is running the latest One UI version. Go to Settings Software update Download and install. Updates often fix rotation bugs
