Riding into deep sand on a road is common in many parts of the world. South Africa frequently has paved roads turn to dirt or sand and can suddenly become very deep. While riding with some locals I took the opportunity to stop on a section of road to share the techniques I use to not fall down or crash while riding deep sand wheel ruts or how to cross over the sand berm that forms in-between them.
