Via Mazda Connect Infotainment System (Modern Models)
1. Turn the ignition on, but don’t start the engine (key in position 2 or press the push‑button start without your foot on the brake).
2. Open the “Applications” menu on your Mazda Connect screen.
3. Navigate to “Vehicle Status Monitor”.
4. Select “Maintenance” (or similar).
5. Choose the relevant service type — often “Oil Change” or “Service Interval”.
6. Tap “Reset” and confirm. The wrench or service‑light on your dash should clear on the next start.

This process applies to vehicles like the Mazda3, CX‑5, CX‑9, and others equipped with Mazda Connect. For example, the Mazda3 route specifically is: Applications → Vehicle Status Monitor → Maintenance → Service Engine Soon → Reset

Without Infotainment (Older or Basic Models)
If you don’t have Mazda Connect, you can still reset the light manually:
1. Switch off the ignition.
2. Press and hold the trip reset button (the odometer or trip “A/B” button).
3. While holding it, turn the ignition on (again, without starting the engine).
4. Continue holding for around 5 seconds or more until the wrench icon flashes and then goes off.
