Inglebard Gaming | How To Replace the Analog Stick in a Switch Joycon and Stop Joycon Drift - Do it Yourself! @InglebardGaming | Uploaded August 2020 | Updated October 2024, 20 minutes ago.
For best results view at 1080p60fps. You know what I hate? Joycons. The Nintendo Switch is fine, but I've always thought the joycons were garbage. They're too small, too thin, uncomfortable, and worst of all, a huge percentage of them seem to suffer from joycon drift. I tried cleaning mine and all the non-invasive tricks, but nope, nothing worked.
I could either try and send my heavily out of warranty unit back to Nintendo for repair or try to fix the joycon drift myself. I went the fix it myself route! I also figured, hey why not make a tutorial video on it, so here we are.
This is not a promotional video, I got the kit I used from Amazon Vine, so it counts as income. The company that makes it has no idea I made this video and thus had zero input on it. Here is the exact kit I bought:

Note that prices tend to fluctuate on these things and it's gone up since I got mine as of the time this video went live.
Also, I don't use the analog stick caps that came with the kit and likely never will, but if you want to use them you just slide them over top of the joystick. I tried one and yeah, they're not for me.
