I show how to remove the old shift cable and install a new cable in a Shimano Deore (SL M510) mountain bike shifter. The cable replacement process is the same for both the left and right shifters. These are 3x9 speed (Mega 9 Drive Train) shifters from a 2000 Trek 6500 ZX mountain bike.
