Replacing the electric thermostat on an RV water heater is one of the easiest DIY jobs you can do. Here we demonstrate not only how to replace it, but the symptoms that led to diagnosing the problem.
We have a Suburban brand 12-gallon bi-fuel (propane electric) RV water heater, and we're replacing the thermostat that controls the electric side. Some smaller Suburban heaters have similar set-up. Atwood heaters will be different. But diagnosing a failing RV water heater thermostat will often be the same for any RV owner.
