Psst...you've got household hazardous waste. You know, those bottles and cans of forgotten liquids and chemicals that sit on your garage or basement...or maybe under the sink. You're one spill or cracked bottle away from a toxic mess.
Many cities and towns offer periodic household hazardous waste drop off events. And some have permanent drop off facilities like CHaRM in Atlanta, GA. In addition to household hazardous waste, they take hard to recycle items like mattresses, toilets, tires and electronics (just to name a few).
