This video will show you how to record your screen on Windows 10. I do have a previous video on how to do this on Windows 7, but I found a great new software, Open Broadcast Software, that does a much better job.
You can download the OBS Studio at obsproject.com
Just select the newest version under Get OBS Studio. Once it finishes downloading, run the executable and step through the couple of pages to install it.
Once it is installed, you just need to do a couple things to record the screen. First, go to the settings option in the left, and then go to the video tab. In this window, set the output resolution you want (should be the same as your monitor). Next, go to the output tab, and set the recording format to whatever you want. The default is flv, which will work fine for most things, so leave it as that if you are unsure.
Next, on the main screen, click the + button under sources at the botton. In the list that pops up choose display capture, and then in the window select the screen you want to record from the dropdown. Then in the mixer box, if the mix/aux option doesn't seem to be responding to your microphone, click the gear next to it, and select your microphone.
Then, hit start recording to start, stop recording to finish, and go to file then show output files to see your finished work.
