Scouting for Clean Waterways is a nationwide Scouting America initiative designed to empower Scouts to combat marine debris. Since almost all trash eventually ends up in our waterways, almost any kind of trash pickup service project conducted by an individual Scout or a Scouting unit can be a Scouting for Clean Waterways project.
Any one of a unit’s key three — that is, the unit leader, chartering organization representative, and committee chair — can enter hours for the entire unit. Or, a Scout or parent can enter hours for an individual or family, though in this case, the activity will have to be approved by a unit leader after it’s submitted.
You can add a Scouting for Clean Waterways service project to an event that’s already on your Scoutbook calendar. Or, you can create a new event. this video will show you how.
Note: a member of the key 3 can designate someone else to enter activities by using the organization security manager tool.
