Watch our special live band recording feature at Rimshot Studios. Engineers Mike Thorne and Russ Cottier show some standard, creative and unusual drum mic setup's plus guitar and bass with audio samples to listen to. With such a nice range of microphones to choose from it's a good contrast with some of our 'one mic' techniques but this is filmed in the same studio as a few of those on our channel so you can compare :-)
Rather than just show a drum recording setup or a guitar feature we decided to get three musicians together to record some of Russ Cottier's music to experiment with and to demonstrate Mike and Russ' recording techniques with a whole band.
Currently our website is being rebuilt, once it's done we will have all of the multitracks/stems available to download for you to play with and anyone that send us their own mix that is outstanding will get some sort of prize, yet to be worked out.. :-)
