You might be aware of how much I love nodes and this is just another example of why! Sometimes you want to be able to place an object in your scene multiple times, either through geometry nodes, or just by manually placing duplicates. You also want to have the material vary from instance to instance, so that its not so clearly just an exact copy in each location. Maybe you want the procedurally generated pattern to vary between instances, maybe the color entirely, or anything else you can think of! Blenders material nodes give us the tools to do exactly that.
