Jesse Grigsby from Otis Technology provides detailed instructions on how to clean and maintain an AR 15. The process starts by ensuring the firearm is safe and unloaded, followed by separating the upper from the lower receiver, and disassembling the bolt carrier group using a firing pin retaining pin. The cleaning procedure begins with the buffer assembly, then the bolt carrier group, firing pin, and the carrier. The exterior of the carrier, charging handle, and the lower receiver are cleaned before moving onto the upper receiver and the barrel. Cleaning the notoriously tricky star chamber is made easier with a special cleaning tool. The memory flex cable is used for deep cleaning the barrel. Following cleaning, several key friction points on the carrier, bolt, firing pin retaining pin and charging handle are lubricated with CLP. After reassembly, the AR 15 is wiped clean and ready for use.
