Ever wonder why so many English words end in -tion? 🤔

Many English words end in -tion because they come from Latin, where this suffix was used to form nouns from verbs. Over time, English borrowed many of these words—especially through French—so now we have tons of -tion words in English.

For example:

create → creation
act → action
solve → solution
