The English R sound trips up so many learners, and for good reason. It is subtly different from the R in most other languages and it is made in a way that is rarely explained clearly.

In this lesson, I show you the one trick that makes the English R click. The mouth position for the R consonant is exactly the same as the purple shirt vowel sound. Once you feel that connection, producing a clear and natural English R becomes so much more approachable.

What you'll learn in this lesson:

✅ Why the English R feels different from the R in other languages
✅ The purple shirt vowel connection that unlocks the R consonant position
✅ Why R is a bridge consonant sitting between a vowel and a consonant
✅ How to practice the R sound at the beginning of words and syllables
✅ How to handle R in consonant clusters like free, cry, and green
✅ A sustain drill to train your mind and mouth to feel the R placement
✅ Short phrases to build consistency in real speech

By the end of this lesson, you will recognize and produce the English R more easily and confidently in everyday conversations.
