The manual remote programming method (pre-2010 vehicles) is easy and requires following a pattern of opening/closing the door and using the car key.
Newer remote programming (2010 to present) is even easier using Tom's Car Key Programmer model TSL-2 and an app. Programming is simple - use the device to connect with the OBD II port to your car computer. Because of the security features in modern car keys and remotes, it's necessary to program the key chip and the remote FCC ID so your vehicle's computer recognizes it as a key authorized to start the car. Once programmed, you simply take the key to a locksmith to have the metal blade cut to match your vehicle.
