Embrace the outdoors and the incredible flavors that come with it! These mussels, kissed by the open flames of the outdoor oven, are waiting for you. đ„âš With a dash of bubbly champagne, velvety butter, and fresh parsley, these mussels are a celebration of seafood like no other. It's time to feast and savor the magic! â
â
Ingredients:â
1 White onionâ
2 Cloves of garlicâ
50g Butterâ
1.5kg Musselsâ
200ml Champagne of your choiceâ
Handful of parsleyâ
Black pepper to tasteâ
â
Instructions:â
1. Fire up that Outdoor Oven to medium/high heat. đ„â
2. Time to prep the mussels. Discard any broken ones, and check if the open ones are alive by gently tapping them on the rim of the bowl. If they close, you're good to go. If they stay open, it's time to say goodbye. Clean the beard and set the mussels aside.â
3. Slice the onion into half rings and finely chop the garlic. Heat up your Pizza Pan in the oven and melt half of the butter. Add the onions and garlic to the butter, and cook for 3-5 minutes until they turn soft.â
4. Now, introduce the mussels to the Pizza Pan, and let them mingle with the butter, onions, and garlic. Pop them in the oven for one minute to get them all fired up. â
5. Pour the champagne over the mussels, then either cover them with aluminum foil or place another Pizza Pan on top to let the mussels steam open for 5 minutes.â
6. While that's happening, take a moment to finely slice the parsley and set it aside.â
7. When the mussels have opened up and are ready to be devoured, sprinkle the parsley on top, stir in the other half of the butter, add a dash of black pepper, and you're all set to dive into this deliciousness! â
â
To complete it all, bake a few delicious flatbreads to dip into that tasty juice! â
