After killing off the old lawn in Part 1, it’s time to get the ground ready for grass seed.
In this video, I’m preparing the soil properly before seeding the new lawn. That means scarifying, aerating, clearing out the dead material, breaking up the surface and levelling the lawn with soil to create the best possible seed bed.

This is one of the most important stages of a lawn renovation. If you just throw grass seed down onto compacted, messy or uneven soil, you’re already making life harder for yourself. Good soil prep gives the seed better contact with the ground, helps with germination and gives the new lawn the best chance of growing thick and healthy.
