POLYMETERS! One of the coolest rhythmic concepts, that can bring in just the right amount of randomness vs organization into any groove! π₯
There will always be one that feels stronger, as the main rhythm, and one that will feel as if it's "floating" above the other and contrasting it. I actually like doing what I call "REVERSE POLY" - where the floating rhythm is the one in 4/4, over the main rhythm in an odd time signature. This is opposite to the 90% norm where the base rhythm is the simpler one.
