Although best known as the theme song from the video game Tetris, this melody originated hundreds of years ago as the Russian folk song Korobeiniki (Russian: Коробе́йники, 'The Peddlers'). Nintendo adapted it in 1989 for their Game Boy version of Tetris, where it was titled 'A-Type'.
