Originally known as 'Carol of the Drum', this beloved Christmas song was written in 1941 by American classical music composer Katherine Kennicott Davis. It was first recorded in 1951 by the Trapp Family Singers (later to be immortalised in The Sound of Music) and is known for the repeating lyric, 'Pa rum pum pum pum'.
