Learn to setup and play a version of solitaire with cards called The Baker's Dozen. These rules come from "Dick's Games of Patience, or, Solitaire with Cards." This 1884 book contains 64 versions of solitaire! See the original rules and variations in the digitized version: mcgill.ca/x/wTZ
The main rules of gameplay:
1. deal out one entire deck of cards into 13 piles of 4 cards each.
2. Flip the top card of each packet.
2. If/when you turn up an Ace, move it to one of 4 foundation spots beside your packets, then build up in ascencing order, following suit.
3. Make Marriages in descending order using the cards in your 13 packets. You do not have to follow suit. Move any top card from the 13 packets and place on a higher card.
4. If you turn up a king, you must move it to the bottom of the packet.
5. Keep making marriages, building them in descending order and keeping to suit if you can.
6. Build 4 foundation piles, one for each suit.
7. You win if you manage to stack all 4 suits on the foundations in order! Good luck!
