When it comes to lockpicking and learning how to pick locks, certain pins seem to cause more trouble and difficulty than others. Gins and barrels are usually the first ones to come to mind for most pickers, but Tapered pins (at least for me) are on that list as well. The slippery nature of these pins and the reduced feedback they give can make them very difficult for newer pickers. The tension needed to pick them well is another thing that works against pickers when they first start to encounter them. Today though, we will hopefully help you to learn how to deal with these pins so that you can continue to progress as a picker.
