Hey guys! In today's Art Journal Thursday episode I'm going to show you how to paint a water lily lotus flower with gouache step by step but you of course use acrylic paint or poster colors as well! To create this gouache painting I will show you all the steps from sketching out the drawing, transferring it onto the paper and how to paint it with gouache. If you were wondering how to paint a lotus flower, you can of course use the same drawing and gouache painting technique and follow the steps as lotus and water lilies are similar but have a few differences. The flower I used as reference is called Nymphaea lotus, the white Egyptian lotus, tiger lotus, white lotus or Egyptian white water-lily; a flowering plant of the family NymphaeaceaeI.
