At the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), Rotten Tomatoes hosted a ‘Rotten Tomatoes Lab: Critics Edition’ that was catered to giving advice for first-time festival attendees from expert journalists, editors, and critics. Host Jacqueline Coley was joined by Erik Anderson — the Editor-in-Chief at AwardsWatch, Valerie Complex — an Associate Editor/Film Writer for Deadline, Kay-B — a freelance Journalist and TV & Film critic, and Esther Zuckerman — an Author and Journalist. The panelists covered networking, scheduling, and gaining access at a festival, the state of the industry, and the difference between journalists and influencers, as well as how to integrate new media (video, podcast, social) into your work.
