Move the Start button and menu in Windows 11
Ever wish the Windows 11 Start menu could return to its classic position? You’re in luck! If you’re not a fan of the new center-aligned Start button, don’t worry—there’s a simple way to move it back to the left. Plus, you can customize the taskbar to make it work just the way you like.
In this video, we’ll guide you through the process step by step to help you get the Windows 11 taskbar setup that suits you best.
Let’s dive in and follow these quick steps.
1. Right-click on the taskbar at the bottom of your screen.
2. Select Taskbar settings from the options.
3. Under the Taskbar alignment drop-down menu, select Left to move the Start menu and icons to the left.
4. To pin an app to the taskbar, open the app of your choice.
5. Once the app is open, right-click its icon in the taskbar.
6. Choose Pin to taskbar from the menu to keep it there.
7. To remove the app from the taskbar, right-click the app’s icon again and select Unpin from the taskbar.
8. For further customization, right-click on the taskbar again and select Taskbar settings.
9. Toggle on the option to Automatically hide the taskbar to make it disappear when not in use.
10. To show the taskbar again, simply move your mouse cursor to the bottom of the screen.
11. If you prefer the taskbar to always be visible, turn off the toggle to Automatically hide the taskbar.
